This is NAVLY. NAVLY is a battery electric vehicle that makes a small trail around the Confluences Mall to pick up to eight passengers and gradually take them along its route. It moves at a moderate pace- slightly more rapid than walking. Inside the vehicle, you can see a man in a white polo. He is hold a tablet to ensure NAVLY is behaving correctly and continuing on the right path, as it is still in BETA/ not quite ready to carry about its days alone.

          NAVLY is able to know where it's going primarily through GPS. It follows along a designated path each day, and recalibrate its position through use of an antenna on its roof and also on the roof the mall. When a pedestrian approaches too close to NAVLY, it emits a ringing bell sound and stops until it determines the path is clear. It has particularly aggressive braking due to its hydraulic brakes, however, safety for everyone is important. NAVLY can also be seen in the USA in Las Vegas.

           The black building here in the center at the Confluences features an array of small solar cells. These south-facing additions help to reduce power consumption of the building, and giving it a nearly black appearance. Up close, the solar cells are not as nearly close together as they appear from far away.

            From a distance away, it looks as though there is a circular ball ejecting from this building, but in reality it is a circular indent within the building, creating a visual effect. Further within the empty space is another circular "hole," granting what appears to be a green or open-air space for those within the building. A fine mesh-like grate covers the exterior of the building, provoking a theme of holes.

            In the Confluences area in Lyon, are a series of architecturally renounced buildings which serve as housing arrangements for some people in the city. Although connected, each building features unique designs with various textures, patterns, concepts, visual effects, et cetera, allowing for them to also serve as a public visual cue.
